We are touring the Nawabs' homeland today. We visit Clock Tower- India's largest clock tower, Rumi darwaja- an example of Awadhi architecture, Chota imambara- one of the most beautiful and attractive buildings in the old city, British residency- a significant part of the Seige of Lucknow (1857), Bada imambara- known for its incredible maze, known as Bhul Bhulaiya locally, the ruins of which can still be seen at the site. Further along, we cross the Chattar Manzil, commonly known as the Umbrella Palace, and Jama Masjid, two significant Lucknow religious sites. The Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI)'s office is located there, and it still has a charming old-world feel to it.
Today, we travel to the well-known pilgrimage site of Ayodhya. We first visit Hanuman Garhi, a temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman built in the 10th century, in this town that is strongly associated with Lord Rama. King Dashrath, the founder of Ayodhya and the father of Lord Sri Ram, lived in Dashrath Mahal, his first home. Kanak Bhavan is thought to have been given to Devi Sita by Kaikei soon after her marriage to Lord Ram. Ram Janmabhumi is the birthplace of Lord Ram. We continue to explore Ram ki Paidi for stunning photographs.
Today we travel to Shravasti, which served as both the Buddha's primary residence following his enlightenment and the seat of the ancient Indian kingdom of Kosala. The Jetavana Monastery, which was formerly one of the most important Buddhist monasteries, and the Angulimala Stupa were both discovered during the 1863 excavation of the Shravasti ruins. The stupa symbolises Gautama Buddha's enormous influence, which was essential to the advancement of civilisation. We also stop at the Buddhist temple and meditation institution Daen Mahamongkol Temple.
The visitors will head to the Lucknow airport in accordance with their flight time and begin their return trip.
